About the American Shorthair
Descended from working cats brought to North America by early settlers to control rodents, later refined into a distinct show breed. Solidly built with a medium-to-large frame and a dense, short coat available in more than 80 colors and patterns.
Temperament
Easygoing, adaptable, and even-tempered, the American Shorthair gets along well with children and other pets and is content with quiet companionship.
