About the Scottish Fold
Originated from a spontaneous mutation found on a Scottish farm in 1961, defined by a cartilage abnormality that folds the ears forward and down. Round-faced and medium-bodied, with a coat that may be short or long (the longhaired variety is sometimes called the Highland Fold).
Temperament
Sweet-natured, adaptable, and quiet, the Scottish Fold is affectionate without being overly demanding and gets along well with children and other pets.

- Polycystic kidney disease
Grooming needs
The coat needs weekly brushing, more for the longhaired variety, and the folded ears should be checked regularly given their shape.
