About the Burmese
Descended from a single brown female cat brought from Burma to the United States in the 1930s and crossed with Siamese to establish the breed. Compact and muscular — sometimes described as 'bricks wrapped in silk' — with a short, glossy coat.
Temperament
Highly social, playful, and people-oriented, the Burmese often follows its owners from room to room and dislikes being left alone for long stretches.

Grooming needs
The short, fine coat needs minimal upkeep; occasional brushing is enough to keep it glossy.
