At the geriatric stage, care for a Somali becomes largely comfort- and monitoring-focused: more frequent vet checkups (roughly every three to six months), a diet suited to aging kidneys and digestion, and continued gentle grooming assistance. Watch for any decline in mobility or appetite and adjust the home environment — ramps, low-sided litter boxes, easily reached food and water — to help keep an aging Somali comfortable.
