About the Birman
Known as the 'Sacred Cat of Burma,' with a legendary temple origin, though the modern breed was developed in France in the early 20th century. Medium-to-large and long-bodied, with a silky semi-long coat, deep blue eyes, and distinctive white gloves on each paw.
Temperament
Gentle, affectionate, and quietly social, the Birman enjoys being near its family without being demanding, and gets along well with children and other pets.

Grooming needs
The silky coat has less undercoat than many other longhairs and resists matting, but still benefits from a couple of brushings a week.
