About the Egyptian Mau
One of the few naturally spotted domestic cat breeds, with a lineage reportedly traceable to ancient Egypt, though the modern breed was developed from cats imported to the United States in the 1950s. Medium-sized and muscular, with a random spotted coat and a distinctive flank flap of skin that aids its speed.
Temperament
Alert, athletic, and loyal to its family, though sometimes reserved with strangers, the Egyptian Mau is regarded as one of the fastest domestic cat breeds and enjoys running and jumping.
