At the geriatric stage, care for a Balinese becomes largely comfort- and monitoring-focused: more frequent vet checkups (roughly every three to six months), a diet suited to aging kidneys and digestion, and continued gentle grooming assistance. Watch for any decline in mobility or appetite and adjust the home environment — ramps, low-sided litter boxes, easily reached food and water — to help keep an aging Balinese comfortable.

At the geriatric stage, Balinese cats benefit from vigilant monitoring for clumsiness in dim light, dilated pupils, or reluctance to jump onto familiar surfaces, as well as increased thirst, changes in urination, or lethargy tied to kidney or liver function, alongside the general signs of aging such as reduced mobility or appetite changes. Frequent veterinary check-ins make it easier to keep a geriatric cat comfortable while managing any of these long-standing breed tendencies.
